Just read that 45 Americans and 15 Canadians applied for asylum in the UK between 2004 and 2008.
Laughable that they tried to maintain they had a well-founded fear of persecution. Whatever stance or protest they were trying to make I think it's quite insulting to put themselves on a par with the genuine cases where families have been raped and butchered.
Fortunately they were all turned down.
