The "sell off" of NB Power to Quebec has been cancelled. Cold feet? Maybe. There have been many protests against the sale but backing out at this stage is hardly likely to make the government more popular.
Quebec has said it's not worth it to them anymore. They wanted it so they could export their spare electricity to the USA. NB isn't in a position to do that.
Now if NB Power is no longer attractive to Quebec when they'd have additional income to pay costs, how the hell is it attractive to NB? We're gonna be paying through the nose for it again. *sigh*
